Updating Your Jacuzzi
Have you ever wondered how shops that sell televisions survive when everybody seems to have one already?
The majority of spas or hot tubs are built to last for a long time, so why would you want to ever consider upgrading to a newer model? There are many reasons and the first is the technological improvements that are added each year which of coure is the same for the television..
One of the main changes has been the effectiveness of the massaging jets and if you already own a spa, hot tub or jacuzzi and currently enjoy the benefits of massaging jets, can you imagine how much better your experience will be with the improved options?
Other factors which may influence the upgrade are a change of lifestyle or simply that your individual decorating style has changed. There’s no point in having a wonderful room that’s modern-looking only to have an out-of-date, old fashioned spa hiding in the corner. The spa or hot tub addition to a room should always be to enhance the room, not detract from it. Meaning that if your style has changed, why not change your tub in order to continue the improvements?
Another temptation that happens every year once the brand new units are unveiled, is the improvement in the ease of the maintenance for your spa or tub. Because 30 years ago they were all generally made of wood, they were much more difficult to keep clean and if you didn’t refinish the wood annually, they would eventually just rot because of the exposure to the elements and to the chemicals needed to keep it clean and clear.
Probably one of the best reasons for upgrading your spa is that the form of energy savings and efficiency are always being addressed and improved, particularly over recent years due to the escalating power costs worldwide and the effects of climate change. You are probably finding that as the years pass, it’s costing more and more to keep the water in the tub at the required temperature. If so then maybe now is the time to investigate the cost savings of a newer model and determine whether an upgrade makes the most economical sense.
The point here is not to suggest that whenever there is a new or improved spa model, you should immediately rush out and buy one, that would be ridiculous. Besides, spas, hot tubs and jacuzzis are all designed to last for years and unless you are super wealthy, trying to continually keep up with technology in any field is virtually impossible. However if you are finding that you are putting more money into repairs than you should be, maybe it’s time to trade-up.
The great news is that most dealers offer a trade-in deal where they will remove your old model and you don’t have to worry about its disposal. It’s a clever way for you to feel less guilty about trading up when you don’t have to be responsible for what to do with the old tub. You really can’t go wrong by changing your hot tub every ten years or so but like everything, the more you look after it, the longer it should last.
